RANCHASSIST™ WINTER FEED PLANNER
TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective Date: August 29, 2026
These Terms of Service govern use of the RanchAssist™ Winter Feed Planner. By using the tool, you agree to these Terms and to any broader RanchAssist.com terms that apply to the website or service through which the tool is provided.
1. DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE
Winter Feed Planner is a planning utility that helps users organize herd information, winter feeding dates, hay assumptions, supplements, mineral, inventory, feeding schedules, supplier lead times, scenarios, purchasing quantities, and estimated seasonal costs.
2. PLANNING TOOL ONLY
The tool provides estimates based on information and assumptions entered by the user. It does not provide veterinary care, livestock nutrition advice, forage analysis, agronomic advice, financial advice, legal advice, insurance advice, regulatory guidance, or a guarantee of animal performance, feed adequacy, supplier availability, cost, or outcome.
Actual feed needs may vary with animal class, body condition, production stage, health, pregnancy or lactation, forage composition and quality, weather, feeding method, storage, waste, water access, management, and local conditions.
Users are responsible for applying appropriate professional, local, veterinary, nutrition, Extension, feed-supplier, or other qualified guidance to real feeding decisions.
3. USER INPUTS AND ASSUMPTIONS
You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality, and appropriateness of the information you enter. Example values or defaults, when present, are editable planning examples and should not be interpreted as recommendations for your animals or operation.
4. SCENARIOS
Scenario labels such as Normal, Cold/Wet, and Extended are user-controlled planning cases. They are not weather forecasts, market forecasts, or predictions. You are responsible for the assumptions assigned to each scenario.
5. NO GUARANTEE OF CALCULATIONS OR AVAILABILITY
RanchAssist aims to provide transparent and useful calculations, but software may contain errors and real-world conditions may differ from modeled assumptions. You should review Calculation Details, verify material decisions independently, and maintain reasonable operational reserves where appropriate.
The service may be changed, interrupted, unavailable, or discontinued without guarantee of continuous access.
6. SESSION-ONLY USE AND PROJECT FILES
The standalone tool is designed around an active browser session. sessionStorage may be used for current-session resilience, but it is not permanent project storage.
If you want to continue a project later, use Save Project to create a user-controlled .ra RanchAssist Project File. You are responsible for storing, backing up, naming, managing, and protecting files saved to your device.
RanchAssist does not guarantee recovery of a project that was not saved, a project file that is damaged, a file lost from your device, or a file created by an incompatible future or different tool version.
7. PROJECT FILE COMPATIBILITY
The tool may validate .ra files for tool identity, format version, required state, and compatibility. Incompatible, newer, corrupt, incomplete, or wrong-tool project files may be rejected to protect project integrity.
The application may migrate older supported schemas where practical, but perpetual backward compatibility is not guaranteed.
8. EXPORTS, PRINTING, AND SHARING
You may export or share planner outputs using features made available by the application, including CSV, browser-based PDF/print, compact schedules, Copy Summary, and email sharing.
You are responsible for reviewing exported or shared information before relying on or distributing it.
9. EMAIL SHARING
When you use Email Plan in the Google Apps Script deployment, you authorize the service to send the selected plan summary to the recipient email address you provide. You are responsible for entering the correct recipient and for having the right to send the information contained in the message.
10. ACCEPTABLE USE
You may not use the service to:
- Interfere with or disrupt the application or related infrastructure.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, credentials, or other users' data.
- Upload or import malicious, executable, or intentionally corrupted content.
- Misrepresent a RanchAssist estimate as a certified veterinary, nutrition, agronomic, engineering, legal, regulatory, or financial determination.
- Use the service in violation of applicable law.
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
RanchAssist™, its branding, application design, documentation, and software may be protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of RanchAssist intellectual property to you.
You retain responsibility for and rights you otherwise hold in the project information you enter and the local files you create, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement.
12. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The application may rely on browser, operating-system, Google Apps Script, MailApp, printing, file-download, clipboard, or email-provider functionality. Third-party services are subject to their own terms, availability, limits, and policies.
13. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Winter Feed Planner is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or suitability for a particular livestock-feeding decision.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RanchAssist and its owners, operators, licensors, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from reliance on estimates, lost project files, feed purchases, livestock performance, operational interruption, supplier issues, or decisions made using the tool.
Any limitation or exclusion applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
15. INDEMNITY
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, or unlawful use of information you enter, export, or share.
16. CHANGES TO THE SERVICE OR TERMS
RanchAssist may modify the Winter Feed Planner or these Terms as the product changes. Updated Terms should include a revised effective date. Continued use after revised Terms become effective may constitute acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
17. TERMINATION OR SUSPENSION
Access may be limited or discontinued where necessary to protect the service, comply with law, address misuse, or change product availability.
18. GOVERNING TERMS
If a broader RanchAssist.com Terms of Service applies to the site or deployment, those terms may supplement these tool-specific terms. If there is a direct conflict, the controlling agreement or published service terms for the applicable deployment should govern.
19. CONTACT
For questions about these Terms, use the official legal or contact channel published on RanchAssist.com.
These Terms are product-oriented draft language and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before being treated as final legal advice for a particular business, jurisdiction, or deployment.
