Winter Feed Planner is designed to help you organize hay, supplements, mineral, feeding schedules, inventory, reorder timing, and seasonal purchasing in one working plan.

GETTING HELP

Before contacting support, check the following:

1. Confirm your herd groups, head counts, average weights, and winter dates are correct.

2. Review hay bale weight, dry-matter percentage, waste assumption, price, and current inventory.

3. Review every supplement row for rate/head, feeding frequency, package size, package cost, and inventory.

4. Open Calculation Details to verify the formulas and assumptions being used.

5. If a saved project will not open, confirm the file is a .ra file created by the Winter Feed Planner and has not been manually edited or damaged.

6. If Email Plan does not work, confirm you are using the deployed Google Apps Script version and that the deployment has permission to use MailApp.

PROJECT FILE HELP

Save Project creates a local RanchAssist .ra project file containing the editable project state. Keep this file if you want to continue the plan later.

Open Project restores a compatible Winter Feed Planner .ra file and recalculates derived values using the current application logic.

Duplicate Project creates a new project lineage with a new project UUID while copying the current editable state.

Clear Session removes the current active browser-session project. It does not delete .ra files, PDFs, CSVs, or other exports saved to your device.

EXPORT & SHARE HELP

CSV Purchase List — Use for tabular purchasing and inventory information.

PDF / Print Report — Use your browser print dialog to print or save the plan as PDF.

Print Feeding Schedule — Produces a compact schedule-oriented print view.

Copy Summary — Copies a plain-language summary for notes, text messages, or other messaging tools.

Email Plan — Sends the summary using the Google Apps Script MailApp backend in the deployed version.

CALCULATION QUESTIONS

Winter Feed Planner is a planning tool. It does not formulate a nutritionally complete ration, test forage, forecast weather, forecast commodity prices, or replace professional livestock nutrition, veterinary, agronomic, Extension, or feed-management guidance.

Actual feed needs can vary materially with animal class and condition, pregnancy/lactation status, forage quality, weather, feeding system, storage, waste, health, management, and local conditions.

WHEN REPORTING A PROBLEM

Include:

- The page or feature you were using.

- The device and browser.

- What you expected to happen.

- What actually happened.

- The exact visible error message, if any.

- Whether the issue occurs in a new blank project.

Do not send passwords, API keys, authentication tokens, or other credentials in a support request.
